St. Bernadette Mission — Sunday Reflection
Walking with Jesus.
During this sacred Lenten season, we journey spiritually with Jesus on the Way of the Cross. Each step reminds us not only of His suffering but also of His endless love for every human being. As families of the St. Bernadette Mission community, this is a time to reflect, pray together, and renew our hearts as we walk through the Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Stations today.
Eighth Station: Jesus Meets the Women of Jerusalem- Compassion for All
As Jesus walked the painful road to Calvary, He stopped to notice the women who were weeping for Him. Even in His suffering, Jesus showed compassion.
This moment teaches us a powerful message for our daily lives: to consider everyone and show empathy towards others.
During this Lenten season, let us open our hearts to the struggles of our neighbours, friends, and even strangers. In our families, schools, and communities, may we learn to listen, understand, and care for one another just as Jesus did.
A small act of kindness, a comforting word, or a helping hand can bring hope to someone who is hurting.
Ninth Station: Jesus Falls the Third Time-Trusting in God’s Will
Jesus falls again under the heavy weight of the cross. This third fall shows us the depth of His exhaustion and pain, yet He rises again because He trusts completely in the will of God.
In our own lives, we also fall many times — through mistakes, disappointments, and struggles.
But Jesus reminds us that falling is not the end. God is always ready to lift us up.
When we place our trust in Him, He strengthens us and guides us forward.
Tenth Station: Jesus is stripped of His Garments-Dignity in Every Person.
Jesus is stripped of His garments and humiliated before the crowd. In that painful moment, He experienced rejection and shame.
Sometimes in our lives, we may also feel hurt, ignored, or misunderstood, even by people we love.
Yet this station reminds us of the importance of human dignity.
Every person is created in the image of God and deserves respect, kindness, and love.
Eleventh Station: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross- The Power of Unconditional Love
As Jesus is nailed to the cross, we witness the ultimate sacrifice. He accepts this suffering not out of weakness, but out of immense love for humanity.
Every nail reminds us of His mercy and forgiveness.
Jesus carries our sins, our pain, and our brokenness on the cross. His love is unconditional and everlasting.
During Lent,we are Invited to pause and truly receive this love.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, as we walk with You on the Way of the Cross, open our hearts to Your love and mercy. Teach us compassion like You showed to the women of Jerusalem, perseverance when we fall, respect for the dignity of every person, and the courage to love as You loved us on the cross. May this Lenten journey renew our families, strengthen our faith, and lead us closer to You.
