Walking with Christ in Love and Sacrifice
The Stations of the Cross is a powerful devotional tradition in the Christian faith that allows believers to meditate on the final hours of Jesus Christ’s life. It presents profound moments that hold deep spiritual significance, reminding us of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and love for humanity.
As we walk through the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Stations today, it invites us to ponder the love and sacrifice of Jesus, urging us to apply the lessons in our daily lives.
Fourth Station:Jesus Meets His Mother
At this painful moment, we can imagine the silent exchange between Jesus and Mary — no words, just love, understanding, and shared sorrow. Even in suffering, Jesus was not alone. His mother stood with Him.
In our families, we too face dark times — illness, misunderstanding, financial stress, disappointment, or loss. Who stands beside us?
Like Mary simply being present for our beloved ones.
Fifth Station: Simon of Cyrene Helps Carry the Cross
Simon did not expect to carry Jesus’ cross, yet he became part of Christ’s saving journey. Often, we may not choose the burdens placed before us — caring for elderly parents, guiding struggling children, supporting a spouse under pressure; but love invites us to help carry the load.
In our daily life we may be silently carrying the cross of a tired mother, a worried father or a confused teenager.
- Who in my home needs help with their heavy load?
- How can I make their burden lighter this week?
Let us share the burden of our beloved ones
Sixth Station: Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus
Veronica’s act was small but courageous. She stepped forward with compassion and
tenderness. She could not stop the suffering, but she offered comfort.
In our day-to-day life, it is often the small acts that heal:
A sincere “I’m sorry”, a warm meal after a long day with family, a note of appreciation to our
partner and children, a hug when words fail.
These simple gestures leave a lasting imprint of love; just as Christ’s face was imprinted on Veronica’s cloth.
We should try to understand the power of small Kindness.
Seventh Station: Jesus Falls the Second Time
Jesus falls again. He is exhausted. The journey feels overwhelming. Yet He rises once more.
Family life can also be exhausting. Relationships require patience, forgiveness, and perseverance. We may fall into anger, misunderstanding, or distance from one another. But the Gospel calls us to rise again — to try again, forgive again, love again.
Strong families are not those without problems, but those who refuse to give up on one another
As members of St Bernadette Mission, we are more than individuals — we are one family of faith. When one family struggles, we all feel it. When one rejoices, we all celebrate.
Let us:

- Offer small kindnesses like
- Rise again with courage like
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, as we walk this Lenten journey with You, teach us to love in silence like Mary, to serve with generosity like Simon, to show compassion like Veronica, and to rise again with hope when we fall. Strengthen our families and unite our parish in faith, patience, and sacrificial love.
