SMYM

The Syro Malabar Youth Movement (SMYM) is the official youth organization of the Syro Malabar Church, representing more than 1.6 million Catholic youth worldwide. Established on August 30, 2014, the movement was further empowered when the Syro Malabar Youth Commission was formed during the first Synod of Bishops in 2015. SMYM calls young Syro Malabar Catholics to live as witnesses to Christ within the Catholic Church, and specifically within the Syro Malabar community. This mission encourages youth to pursue a joyful and holy life, inspiring them to positively impact the world around them.

Rooted in the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church, SMYM strives to deepen the spirituality and faith of its members, helping to lay a strong foundation for the future of the Syro Malabar Church. The movement is dedicated to uniting Syro Malabar youth globally, fostering their personal and spiritual growth, and preparing them to serve both the Kingdom of God and society. Through this mission, SMYM upholds and promotes the rich heritage of the Syro Malabar Church as it continues to form the next generation of faith-driven leaders.
