A Day of Thanksgiving and Joy
We are truly blessed to gather once again for our Catechism Annual Day—a special day of joy, thanksgiving and reflection on God’s abundant grace in our parish community.
Catechism is not merely a Sunday class. It is the foundation of our faith life, shaping the hearts and minds of our children and youth to understand and follow Jesus Christ.
In a world where faith is often tested, catechism plays a vital role in helping them grow in knowledge and love of Christ and His Church. It teaches essential Christian values; love, forgiveness, service, prayer, humility, truth, compassion, and justice—guiding them to live as true disciples each day.
Our Catechism Programme
Our programme is thoughtfully designed to help children grow at every stage in their journey of faith. It includes:
- Learning basic prayers
- Understanding Bible stories and salvation history
- Knowing the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes
- Exploring the Sacraments and their meaning
- Learning about the Syro-Malabar liturgy
- Discovering the lives of saints and martyrs
- Practicing moral teachings and virtues in daily life
- Preparing for Confession, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation
- Growing in personal prayer and communal worship
Through these lessons, we hope to nurture not only knowledge but faith, prayer life, character and a missionary spirit, so our children may witness to Christ in their families, schools, friendships and the wider world.
We are blessed to hold our catechism classes on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month, offering our children a regular rhythm of faith formation, community spirit and prayer.
Honouring Our Teachers
Our catechism teachers are like modern-day apostles, journeying alongside our children in their spiritual formation. Sunday after Sunday, they faithfully sow the seeds of God’s Word in young hearts.
Today, we offer our deepest gratitude and heartfelt prayers for their time, love, patience and sacrifice. May God reward them abundantly for their faithful service and bless their mission in our community.
Celebrating Our Children
This Annual Day is a joyful occasion to celebrate the many gifts God has given our children.
Whether they sing, act, dance, speak, or share other talents, these are not for mere entertainment, but to glorify God and strengthen our parish community.
Let us take this moment to reflect on how our children have grown in knowledge, faith, and character. May they continue to shine the light of Christ wherever they go—at school, at home, with friends, and beyond.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to all parents and families.
Your commitment is truly inspiring. Many of you sacrifice your Sundays, travel long distances and overcome many challenges to ensure your children receive faith formation.
You are their first and best catechists. Your daily witness, active involvement and encouragement leave a lasting impression on their hearts and guide them on the path of discipleship.
A Call to Our Parish Family
As we celebrate this Catechism Annual Day, let us renew our commitment to support and guide our children on their faith journey.
Let us strive to be good role models, knowing that our lives speak louder than words.
May this special day remind us that faith formation is a lifelong journey and that each of us is called to be a light in the world and a saint of our time.
